How to check which countries an app is available in

Paste the app's App Store or Google Play link into the checker, pick the countries, and the report says for each one whether that country's store lists the app, read live. Without a tool, a store shows only the country your account is set to, so you switch countries one at a time, or ask the developer, who sees every country's status in App Store Connect or Play Console.

What a store means by available in a country

Both stores let you look at another country's listing, within limits, and both make changing your own country a real move rather than a switch.

Observed on 29 September 2026, not an Apple rule: the App Store's web address for an app carries its storefront, as in apps.apple.com/us/app/…, and changing those two letters opens that country's page. For one app checked that day, the United States address answered with the listing and the Japanese address, where the app is not listed, with a page-not-found error.

  • On the web, Google Play lets a signed-out visitor browse another country's store from the country selector in the page footer, but only for other EEA countries, and content can only be bought or downloaded from the store of your own country.

  • Changing the country of an Apple Account means first spending its balance, cancelling any subscription that blocks the change, waiting for pending pre-orders and rentals to clear, and entering a payment method valid in the new country. Some content may not be available after the move.

  • Changing a Google Play country requires being in the new country with a payment method from it, at least 90 days must pass between changes, and members of a Google Family group cannot change it at all. Your Play balance stays linked to the old country.

The developer's view

The one place that shows every country at once, with the reason for each, is the developer's own console. If the app is yours, start there.

Check every country at once

For an app that is not yours, or for the outside view of one that is, a checker reads each country's public listing and puts the answers in one report. This one reads Apple's public App Store data and Google Play's public store pages live, at the moment you run it; nothing is estimated and no third-party data provider sits in between.

  1. Open the checker on the app

    Paste the app's App Store or Google Play link, or search its name. The store is read from the link, so an Android package name or a numeric App Store id works too.

  2. Pick the countries

    Choose the storefronts you care about, a whole region, or all 175 App Store countries or 176 Google Play locations. Up to 5 countries per report is free and needs no account.

  3. Run the check

    The checker reads each storefront's public listing at that moment and reports, country by country, whether the app is listed, with its rating, price and chart position where the store publishes one.

  4. Keep the report

    Export it as CSV or JSON, or open it in your mail app. With a free account every report is saved, so the same check on two dates can be compared side by side.

Note: A report says whether the store lists the app in that country. It does not measure whether the app works on a country's networks. On Google Play the rating count is one worldwide figure, because that is how Google publishes it.

A worked example: one app, all 175 App Store countries

A check run on 29 September 2026 for Spotify (App Store id 324684580) across all 175 storefronts, from the demo page, where the nine demo apps are always free to check. It took about four minutes with ratings and reviews on.

Each of the six was confirmed the same day against Apple's iTunes lookup API, which returns no result for the app in those storefronts. The report does not say why they are missing, and no outside tool can: the reason is in the developer's status column. What it does give is the whole picture in one pass, which the store's own website can only give one country at a time.

Can I see which countries an app is available in without changing my account's country?

Yes. On the web, the App Store's address for an app carries its storefront, and a country that does not list the app answers with a not-found page. Google Play lets a signed-out visitor browse other EEA countries' stores from the footer. A checker reads every storefront's public listing at once, so you get the whole list in one report instead of switching countries by hand.

Why is an app available in one country but not in another?

Because the developer chose the countries. On the App Store the developer ticks storefronts in App Store Connect, and on Google Play a release goes to the countries and regions selected as available in Play Console. A country can also be closed to an app for legal or regulatory reasons, which the developer sees as a status on that country. Most gaps are a release choice.

Does not available mean the app is banned in that country?

Rarely. On both stores, not available almost always means the developer did not release there, and Apple's status column names a legal or regulatory reason to the developer when one applies. Nothing outside the developer's console shows which it is, so a report tells you where the app is listed today, not why it is missing elsewhere.

How do I check if an Android app is available in my country?

Open the app's Google Play page from your own Play account: the store shows your Play country's listing, and an app not released there does not appear. To see other countries, sign out on the web and use the footer's country selector for EEA countries, or run a check across all 176 Google Play locations. Play publishes one worldwide rating count, so per-country ratings are not part of the answer.

How up to date is a country availability check?

A check reads the store at the moment it runs, so it reflects that day's listing. After a developer changes countries, Apple says the change applies at once but can take up to 24 hours to reach every user, and Google says distribution changes can take a few hours to show on Google Play. A report from last week can be out of date; run it again before relying on it.
