Google Play countries: the list of all 176 locations

All 176 Google Play locations, by region

The five regions are the ones the checker's country picker uses. The third column says whether Apple runs an App Store in the same country; 158 of the 176 are on both stores. The last column comes from Google's table too: in 5 locations Google Play offers free apps but no paid apps or in-app purchases.

How Google keeps the list

• Google publishes one table of the locations where Google Play distributes apps, with the currency and price range accepted in each and whether paid apps are offered. The checker's list of 176 named locations was read from it on 28 August 2026, and the table above renders that list.

• Google Play decides which store a person sees by the country their Google Play account is registered in, not by where they are. A developer selects countries as available on the production track, and every current and future production release includes them.

• Beside the named countries, Play Console knows a Rest of World entry, which Google's own rules for pre-registration and testing tracks name; a country outside the table falls into it.

• Users in most countries can download paid apps and make in-app purchases, and Google points developers to its list of price ranges and currencies by country to verify where purchases are available.

• A person's Google Play country determines the content they find, and changing it needs a payment method from the new country and being there, with at least 90 days between changes. On the web, a signed-out visitor can browse other EEA countries' stores from the footer, but can only download from their own.

Google Play locations and App Store storefronts

• Apple publishes its own list of the countries and regions with an App Store, 175 of them. Set beside Google's table, 158 places are on both stores, 18 Google Play locations have no App Store, and 17 App Store storefronts have no Google Play location, which is why a check on each store uses that store's own list.

What the list does not tell you

A location is a country where Google Play distributes apps. Whether a particular app is listed there is the developer's choice in Play Console, and no list can answer that. Reading that location's store page can, which is what a check does.

That check ran from the demo page, where the nine demo apps are always free, and the one location was confirmed by hand against Google Play's own web page the same day. On Google Play the rating count is one worldwide figure and reviews are grouped by language, so a Play report shows availability, rating, price and chart position per location and never a per-country rating count.
